About PresenceNet

A protocol for cryptographic proof of human presence — without surveillance.

Origin

It started with a colour

PresenceNet began with a conversation about #818cf8 — Tailwind’s indigo-500. What started as interface work for Next Wave, a social wallet for sending XRP through human-readable $handles, turned into deeper questions about digital identity.

Colour palettes led to personalization. Personalization led to shared identity in multi-signature vaults. And that surfaced a gap: multi-sig wallets let groups control money together, but they can’t prove who actually participated. Platforms verify presence through surveillance and data collection. Nothing existed to prove human presence cryptographically without extracting personal data.

The answer that emerged was the Mark — a minimal 0.00001 XRP transaction that serves as proof of presence without revealing anything else. By stripping economic value from the transaction, what’s left is pure mathematical proof that a specific identity existed at a specific moment: immutable, permanent, and private by design. A visual detail for vault interfaces turned out to be foundational coordination infrastructure. The conversation that started with a colour ended with a protocol.

Las Vegas

PresenceNet was presented at the EasyA Shark Tank competition during XRP Las Vegas on May 30–31, 2025, and advanced to the finals. Beyond the result, the event connected the protocol with the XRP Ledger developer community — and PresenceNet found its technical foundation on XRPL.

Ottawa

On June 5, PresenceNet won the Stand With Crypto Canada pitch competition in the Impact category. On June 18, it received an award for infrastructure development at the Canadian Blockchain Consortium Policy Gala — Canada’s premier event convening crypto builders and policymakers — positioning PresenceNet not as an app, but as foundational protocol architecture for coordination at scale.

Veila & Next Wave

Veila emerged in summer 2025 as the first AI platform built on PresenceNet’s trace architecture — transparent reasoning that learns from cryptographically verified presence rather than surveillance.

Next Wave grew from a simple wallet into a full PresenceNet client. Every transaction, $handle interaction, and vault operation generates Marks, so people accumulate Trails of verified presence without ever touching the blockchain directly — which is how foundational infrastructure should feel.

Where it stands

PresenceNet is protocol infrastructure for human coordination at internet scale. The core primitives are deployed on the XRP Ledger, applications built on the protocol are live, and the developer toolkit keeps expanding. It addresses problems existing systems can’t: verifiable group participation without surveillance, permanent memory without platform control, and portable identity without data extraction — built on XRPL, open to all builders, and owned by the people who use it.
